“Fight your way into a better marriage”. DC retreat focused on navigating through conflicts together and building unity in our families. 

Retreat theme: 

Family and marriage therapist Sheila Hynes and Fr. Paul Adamus will lead us in a workshop-style retreat to build out a toolbox of techniques to lovingly approach conflicts between spouses, younger and older children and extended family members. With the help of Domestic Church principals of prayer, meditation, and discussion (Tent of Meeting, Couple/Family Prayer, Marital Dialogue etc.), couples will learn more about God’s will for their marriage and family, and how to grow closer in unity. 

Speakers:

Sheila Hynes – Catholic Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, through ICEEFT, Parent Coaching Naperville Illinois

Rev. Paul Adamus – Father Paul grew up in the spirit of Light-Life Movement. He will be leading us in prayer and conferences on a Christocentric approach of building unity in our marriages.

Times and Dates: 

Start of retreat: Thursday 5/22/26 at 8pm 

Conclusion:  Monday 5/25/26 at 2pm 

(Participants are asked to attend the entire retreat for their benefit and other attendees.) 

Typical Daily Schedule:

Liturgy of hours, breakfast, AM conference, Tent of Meeting (personal prayer), Holy Mass, lunch, family time, PM conference, small groups, dinner, joyful evening, evening prayers.

There will be built in time for confession, marital dialogue, and marital prayer.

Teenagers, youth, and children will participate in their own retreats in parallel.

Retreat will be bilingual (EN/PL). Please note on the registration form if translation services are needed.
